IBM i 7.1 Networking Enhancements
and Troubleshooting
Session Abstract:
In this session we'll start with some of the basics of Ethernet communications and the IBM i Ethernet line description. We'll discuss basic parameters, reliability parameters and throughput and performance.
Once we understand everything the line can be we'll review quickly setting up IP Addresses, routes and the rest of IP configuration in IBM i including name resolution and host table entries.
Next we'll discuss load balancing and Ethernet line failover in a virtual IP environment.
With that background we'll continue into the newest features Aggregation and bridging. Well go cover the requirements for each and the configuration of each feature in detail.
Finally we'll discuss Ethernet and IP Troubleshooting including new Comm Trace options, Traceroute, Ping, NSlookup, Dig and more!
